Being a successful clinician requires skills that may not be addressed during training.  You will need business skills such as practice management, working with support staff, and finance, among others.

In this video, F. Taylor Wootton III, MD, AGAF describes an AGA session for fellows that will address managing and operating an effective office, employment opportunities and the consolidation of health systems and physician practices.

Fellows in GI & Hepatology: Advancement in Skills for Clinical Practice will be held Monday, May 21, 2:15–3:45 p.m. Dr. Wootton’s presentation will be followed by roundtable discussions led by additional faculty.

If you’re an experienced clinician, what advice would you give to fellows who will soon transition into practice? If you’re a fellow (or recently out of fellowship) what skills would you most like to hear about in this session?
