In a new blog post on helio.com, Dr. Campbell Levy discusses the results of a study he presented during DDW on a new prep regimen for colonoscopy — a delicious, edible, nutritionally balanced prep comprised of regular foods.

Dr. Levy and his team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center tested the efficacy of the prep diet, which was created to overcome the hurdle of patients’ fear of drinking a large volume of viscous liquid.  Results of the study suggest that patients may soon have an appealing new option when preparing for colonoscopy, a development that will hopefully mean that even more lives are saved by the procedure.
