This year, Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) has been blown back to the Windy City. Chicago has recently been voted one of the best cities to visit by U.S News and World Report. No matter what your interests, there is something to be explored in almost every corner of the city.

DDW 2017 will be held in McCormick Place, one of the premier convention facilities in North America. As the nation’s largest convention center boasting 2.6 million square feet of space, McCormick Place is an ideal place to hold a meeting of DDW’s stature. Stunning views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline make it easy to take in the scenery while at the convention center.

When you’re ready to start exploring some of what this great city has to offer, head to the metro conveniently located only a few blocks from the convention center. If you ride the red line train up to the Magnificent Mile, a mile-long stretch of North Michigan Avenue, you will be greeted by a plethora of retail stores offering world-class shopping. If shopping isn’t your priority, the Magnificent Mile is also referred to as the “the heart of Chicago’s world famous dining scene”. With restaurants ranging from exquisite steakhouses to fast-food burritos, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Hop back on the red line train and hit The Loop. See, eat, drink, shop and stay — The Loop is Chicago’s official downtown area. Recognized as the second largest downtown business district in the U.S., The Loop is home to attractions like Millennium Park, which has some of the most amazing pieces of public art in the world, and Broadway in Chicago.  Located in the same vicinity is the Willis Tower.  Stop over at the tower and visit the Chicago Skydeck which gives you a breath taking view of the entire city. With so much to do, you’ll never tire of staying in The Loop.

Come to DDW 2017 to experience a premier GI event, but stay to explore Chicago — a preeminent American city.
